VISTA – Science in the Making. How Is Tomorrow’s Knowledge Created?
Science is not a finished product, but a process — a path shaped by questions, coincidences, and experiments. With the exhibition Science in the Making, VISTA opens up a panorama that makes this process spatially, visually, and sensually tangible.
The architecture follows an open dramaturgy: flowing spaces, translucent structures, islands and archipelagos. Each zone tells a story — from the first spark of curiosity, through digital landscapes and field research, to the laboratory and the realm of neuroscience. Transitions are deliberately permeable. Lines of sight create proximity.
The scenography plays with contrasts: light and shadow, bold colors and delicate textures, large-scale installations and fragile exhibits. Precise laboratory aesthetics meet poetic images of nature, immersive media meet tactile stations. Research is not presented at a distance, but staged atmospherically — accessible, warm, sometimes playful, always inspiring.
Graphic design guides visitors through this landscape. Typography, colors, and pictograms form a visual system that provides clarity while creating resonance. Content appears in layers: short action texts, in-depth science content panels, and personal voices from ISTA.
Objects from the laboratories, interactive stations, artistic works, and design artifacts interweave into a narrative that makes science understandable as a part of our lives. In this way, VISTA becomes not only a place of wonder but also a space of trust — a Science Experience Center that shows: research is human, creative, and approachable.
