Concept of an exterior place in cooperation with Julia Kroese
The main aim of the concept for Verlorene Bos is to protect an old chestnut tree in front of a building and to transform a transit zone into a space with a quality of stay and new seating. The new concept uses a curved form of wooden panels to create a screened, uniformly transitioning quiet zone for users.
The gaps between the panels create a link to the outside area. Several communication zones and places of retreat are created.
To emphasise the significance of the old chestnut tree, three outlines of chestnuts are embedded on the outside of the panels, which can also be seen as eye-catchers from a distance.
The work was created as part of a six-week internship (LUCA Upstairs +) during my study abroad in Ghent in cooperation with  my partner Julia Kroese.
